New research into healthy pregnancy

Dr Andrew Keniry, an alumnus of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, is the lead author in a newly-published paper on placental growth and healthy pregnancy.  The research, which is published in the latest issue of Nature Cell Biology, shows that the controlled release of a specific molecule, called miR-675, slows down growth of the placenta before birth.  The paper is the result of collaboration between scientists in the UK, France, Belgium and the USA.

Andrew took his doctorate in Biological Sciences at the Babraham Institute, supported by a Poynton Cambridge Australia Scholarship which was co-funded by CCT and Cambridge Australia Scholarships.

Full information about the research and its contributors can be found on the Institute's website.
