Welcome for new Trust scholars
On Saturday 15 October, the Trust hosted a welcome event for all those new scholars it is supporting who arrived in Cambridge this term to take up their studies.
Nearly 400 scholarships were awarded by the Trust and its global partners for this academic year, with 78 countries across the world being represented at the event.
Helen Pennant, the Trust’s Director, welcomed the scholars and offered her congratulations on gaining highly sought after scholarships; the Trust, the largest provider of awards for students at the University of Cambridge, receives as many as 4,000 applications each year.
Professor Graham Virgo, the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, also addressed the attendees, highlighting the importance of international students to the University and what they could expect from their time here.
As well as meeting other Trust scholars, students were able to meet and chat informally with Trust staff and Trustees.
