The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, PhD scholars, and Directors of the Cambridge Trust explain how when barriers to education are removed, talent can thrive.
Every year, hundreds of students from the UK and across the globe walk through the doors of the University of Cambridge with the support of the Cambridge Trust. Bringing new ideas, new energy, and new perspectives.
Together with our partners – governments, foundations, philanthropists, corporates and the Colleges themselves – we open doors to the brightest minds, unlocking potential and enriching the academic community at one of the world’s greatest universities.
Across forty years we have enabled 22,000 people from 150+ countries to study here. These scholars go on to pursue whatever pathway they choose, whether that is a rewarding career in academia or business, or to shape their communities and countries.
And all of them, in some way, inspire generations to come.
Our new video, Opening Doors, explains more about what we do, how we do it, and the impact made through Cambridge Trust funding opportunities. The story is told by:
- Professor Deborah Prentice, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge
- Kesna Fairclough, a Jamaican scholar currently studying for his PhD in Computational Physics at LabSC and King’s College, supported by the Cambridge Caribbean Scholarship, co-funded by the Trust, the University, and Trinity College
- Anwesha Ganguly, an Indian scholar completing her MPhil in History at Clare Hall
- Dr Rachel Coupe, Director (Awards)
- Miranda Williamson, Director (Partnerships, Communications and Impact)
