At the heart of Cambridge’s global academic community is the Cambridge Trust, a charity driven by a simple but powerful mission – to enable individuals with outstanding academic potential to access education and research opportunities at the University of Cambridge.
Our scholarships improve students’ lives and equip them to make a positive difference to society. We both recognise excellence and remove barriers to entry, enriching talent and diversity at the University.
What we do
The Trust is the largest provider of scholarships at the University of Cambridge. We make 350 new awards annually, supporting around 1,500 scholars in Cambridge each year. These include PhD and Masters students, from the UK and countries across the globe, in all subjects and at all 31 Colleges.
In our 40-year history we have supported over 22,000 people from more than 150 countries.

How we do it
Together with our partners, we build packages of financial support that meet the diverse needs of students and respond to the University’s academic priorities.
Values of transparency and fairness guide our support for students. We work with partners who share our vision so that the funding reaches those with need and real potential.
Why we do it
We believe that when gifted minds are given the chance to thrive they illuminate ideas, advance society and uplift communities. While they are at Cambridge, our scholars have opportunities to advance knowledge in their fields and develop skills that will carry them into the future as academics, leaders and changemakers.
A Cambridge Trust scholarship is an invitation into a world of possibility and impact.
