Cambridge Caribbean Scholarship

The Cambridge Trust is proud to offer the Cambridge Caribbean Scholarship for students from the Caribbean region in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Trinity College.

The programme recognises the historic disadvantage of the region and the potential of young people to act as catalysts for change. It supports students who demonstrate outstanding academic ability, enabling them to study at the University of Cambridge.

Since 2023 when the scheme was established eleven students have been able to take up their places at Cambridge with the support of a Cambridge Caribbean Scholarship and it is hoped that as alumni they will form a cohort of talented people who contribute to the future development of the Caribbean region.

The scholarship is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and is open to applicants at Masters or PhD level in any discipline.

Selection takes into account the impact on the Caribbean region that students will have through their study or research whilst at Cambridge and after they graduate. Sitting on the panels are people who have a background that closely links to the scholarship criteria and an understanding of the Caribbean region, its history, and its complexity.

Brian Walker explains what makes the Cambridge Caribbean Scholarship so special.

The Trust plays a vital role in facilitating the integration of scholars from across the world. Not just through generous funding, but also helping to build a community of thinkers and doers. To all Caribbean nationals, I encourage you to apply.
