Guidelines for scholars

The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust was established as an Exempt Charity on 1 August 2013.

The Trust was formerly known as the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust, established as charities by the University of Cambridge in the 1980s in order to provide financial assistance for outstanding students from outside the EU who, without help, would normally be unable to take up their places at Cambridge. More information about the Trust is available in About the Trust.

The Trust is not involved in student admission to the University, apart from encouraging suitably qualified candidates for the Trust’s awards to apply to the University, via the normal channels, by the published deadline.

Undergraduate admission (including admission for affiliated students) is decided by the Colleges. Postgraduate admission is decided by Postgraduate Admissions, on the recommendation of the relevant Faculty or Department. Every postgraduate student who is offered admission to the University will also be offered a place by a College before admission is confirmed.

Please take note of the regulations of the University and of your College. It is a condition of scholarships from the Trust that these regulations be observed.

Please see here a downloadable version of the full Guidelines for Scholars.

Please note, this is the most up to date version of the Guidelines and may be updated throughout the academic year.
