King's Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship for Small Island Developing States

These scholarships are for PhD students who are citizens of, or ordinarily resident in, Small Island Developing States of the Commonwealth pursuing courses in any subject with a focus on strengthening capacity in key themes within those States.

The scholarships are fully-funded and tenable at any College.

Please note: Eligible applicants who have already submitted their application for admission and funding will automatically be considered for these scholarships.

  • University tuition fee
  • Annual stipend (sufficient for a single person)
  • Immigration Health Surcharge
  • Visa
  • Personal Research Allowance/Equipment Allowance

Conditions

  • Any subject is eligible, but must have a focus on strengthening capacity in key themes within Small Island Developing States of the Commonwealth
  • Applicants must be either a citizen of and/or be ordinarily resident in one of the following countries:
    • Africa: Mauritius / Seychelles
    • Asia: Maldives
    • Caribbean and Americas: Antigua and Barbuda / Bahamas / Barbados / Belize / Dominica / Grenada / Guyana / Jamaica / St Kitts and Nevis / St Lucia / St Vincent and Grenadines / Trinidad and Tobago
    • Pacific: Fiji / Kiribati / Nauru / Papua New Guinea / Samoa / Solomon Islands / Tonga / Tuvalu / Vanuatu

How to apply

No separate application is required for this scholarship, only the application for admission to the University of Cambridge, which must be submitted by the funding deadline specific to your course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory)
