This scholarship is available to Master's applicants from countries in which Chevening Scholarships are awarded.

Application:

In addition to applying to the University of Cambridge, candidates for 2019-20 should apply to the Chevening programme before 6 November 2018.

Conditions:

Applicants should demonstrate leadership potential, and require financial assistance to study at the University of Cambridge. Check your country on the Chevening website for any subject priorities.

This scholarship is available to Master's applicants from certain developing member countries of the Commonwealth.  Please check the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission's web site for the full list of eligible countries. 

Application:

In addition to applying to the University of Cambridge and being made a conditional offer of admission, candidates will be asked to apply using the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Electronic Application System.

 

Conditions:

  • An applicant's proposed course of study must be relevant to the development of their home country.  Current eligible courses at the University of Cambridge are African Studies, Conservation Leadership, Development Studies, Education (Globalisation and Development), Engineering for Sustainable Development, Health Medicine & Society, Modern South Asian Studies, Public Policy.  For further information on these courses, please see the University's Graduate Prospectus.
  • Successful applicants are required to return to their home country within one month of the end of the scholarship.

Conditions:

  • Applicants should require financial assistance in order to study at the University of Cambridge.
  • Applicants should also have a close connection with one of the following States: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu. (A close connection is defined as having completed a first degree at a recognized university in one of those States, or having been born in one of those States, or having completed the larger part of their school education in one of those States.)

Eligible candidates will be invited by the Cambridge Trust to submit additional information, to assist the Snowdon Trust in scholar selection.

Williams Papworth Studentship

This award is available to postgraduate applicants from the Tibetan Plateau, or its surrounding regions or countries.

Application:

No separate application is required for this scholarship.

 

 

Conditions:

Preference may be given to applicants who are ethnically or culturally connected with Tibet, and to applicants for one-year Masters courses.  Only in exceptional circumstances will awards be made to PhD applicants, or to students who have previously studied in the UK or USA.

The value of the Studentship will be determined by the level of funding available to the recipient from personal or other sources.

Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship

This scholarship is available to PhD applicants in subjects relevant to the work of the Woolf Institute (the study of relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims) and to Masters applicants to the MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies: Muslim-Jewish Relations.
