These prestigious scholarships are offered to applicants who are from countries other than the United Kingdom or Ireland, in any subject, who are highly ranked by their prospective Departments within the University, and are awarded on the basis of academic ability and research potential, examination results, and references. The financial situation of applicants does not affect selection. They are tenable at any College.

This scholarship is available to applicants for a PhD in the Faculty of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies whose research aims to place Japan within the wider context of the world. It is tenable at any College.

DeepMind Scholarship

DeepMind Technologies Limited is a world leader in artificial intelligence research and its application to real-world problems. DeepMind is pleased to offer the DeepMind Cambridge Scholarship, fully-funded scholarships for students studying AI-related fields, through the Cambridge Trust.

The scholarship programme is part of an effort to build a stronger and more inclusive AI community, to bring a wider range of experiences to the fields of AI and computer science. As such, the scholarships fully fund female and/or Black students to study AI-related fields at the University of Cambridge, these groups being currently under-represented. Scholars are also offered support from a DeepMind mentor, and have opportunities to attend leading AI academic conferences and DeepMind events. DeepMind Scholarships are fully funded and available for students undertaking a Master’s degree at Cambridge in Advanced Computer Science, Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence, or Scientific Computing, or a PhD in Computer Science, or other adjacent fields which are relevant to DeepMind’s aims.  They are tenable at any college.

Wellcome Cambridge Trust Scholarship

This scholarship is available to PhD research students in the University's research projects funded by the Wellcome Trust, in the field of Stem Cell Biology and Medicine. It is tenable at any College.

Application:

In addition to applying for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory), application to certain Wellcome Trust programmes is required to ensure that applicants are considered for the scholarship.

Value:

This scholarship is available to PhD applicants in subjects relevant to the work of the Woolf Institute (the study of relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims) and to Masters applicants to the MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies: Muslim-Jewish Relations.  It is tenable at any College.
