Cambridge International Scholarship

These prestigious scholarships are offered to applicants who are from countries other than the United Kingdom or Ireland, in any subject, who are highly ranked by their prospective Departments within the University, and are awarded on the basis of academic ability and research potential, examination results, and references. The financial situation of applicants does not affect selection. They are tenable at any College.

Cambridge Masters Studentship

These studentships are available to all applicants, regardless of fee status, for one-year postgraduate study in any subject.  They are tenable at any College.  Applicants who have already obtained, or are about to graduate with, a Masters or PhD level qualification will not be eligible.

Value:

Variable, but typically a contribution of £12,000 towards the costs of study, payable towards the University tuition fee in the first instance, with any remaining balance being paid as maintenance (living allowance).

Cambridge Opportunity Studentships

Cambridge Opportunity Studentships are for Masters students from low-income households with experience of educational disadvantage who are set at the Home rate for fees. A small proportion of the awards (Get In Masters Studentships) will be reserved to address under-representation of students from Black, British Bangladeshi or British Pakistani backgrounds.

Conditions:

  • Essential Criteria: Applicants must not already be qualified at Masters level or higher, nor currently undertaking postgraduate study. You must also be able to agree with the following statement, and to provide evidence on request: I do not have the existing financial means (in the form of savings, assets, other awards, or an income independent of hours worked) to finance the proposed course of study.
  • Additional Criteria: In addition to the essential criteria above, other additional criteria is detailed on the admissions application form. If there are other challenging life circumstances you feel should be taken into account, for example, educational disruption due to moving school or illness, doing paid work during full-time undergraduate study, circumstances that limited your choice of undergraduate university, an unusual route to postgraduate study, or anything else, then you may be eligible.

Outstanding fees and living expenses are covered when the maximum postgraduate grant / loan is taken with government student finance

The scholarship is available to PhD applicants of any nationality in the field of German Studies. It is tenable only at Jesus College.

This scholarship is available to Undergraduate applicants from Latin America in any subject.  It is tenable at any College.

International applicants who are offered a place by a Cambridge College will be sent an application form to apply for Cambridge Trust Scholarships; those applicants will be considered for any awards administered by the Cambridge Trust for which they are eligible.

Conditions:

Priority will be given to resident citizens of Peru.

This scholarship is available to Masters applicants from countries in which Chevening Scholarships are awarded.  It is tenable at any College.

Application:

Candidates are selected by Chevening (not the Trust). To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must: 1) check with Chevening the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly; and 2) apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory).

Conditions:

Applicants should demonstrate leadership potential, and require financial assistance to study at the University of Cambridge. Check your country on the Chevening website for any subject priorities.

The DeepMind Cambridge Scholarship is available to applicants undertaking postgraduate studies (Masters or PhD) in computer science related fields. This DeepMind programme aims to support and encourage under-represented groups to pursue education in computer science, therefore those who identify as female and/or black applicants will be given priority. It is tenable at any college.

The Rowan Williams Cambridge Studentship is a programme established by the Cambridge Trust to support students who face severe barriers in coming to study in Cambridge. It is available to applicants at all levels, in any subject, and is tenable at any College.

Applicants should be from an area of instability or zone of conflict and, or have been, at risk of discrimination, persecution, suffering, violence or other abuse of their human rights.

This scholarship is available to Masters applicants of any nationality and in any subject (although priority will be given to subjects in the fields of engineering, mathematics, science and technology), who self-identify as having a physical or sensory disability. It is tenable at any College.

Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship

This scholarship is available to PhD applicants in subjects relevant to the work of the Woolf Institute (the study of relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims) and to Masters applicants to the MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies: Muslim-Jewish Relations.  It is tenable at any College.
