Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship

The Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters applicants from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

Candidates should hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in the country.

The scholarship is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and in any subject excluding premium rate courses.

Offered in partnership with the Saïd Foundation.

Value

  • University tuition fee (international rate)
  • Annual maintenance (sufficient for a single person)
  • Student visa
  • Student Immigration Health Surcharge
  • An economy airfare to the UK, and an economy airfare from the UK to the student's country of residence, by the lowest cost available route

Conditions

  • Successful applicants are asked to commit to working for the development of the Middle East after completion of their course of study in Cambridge
  • Candidates should:
    • hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians and Palestinians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in the country
    • have work and/or voluntary experience that is relevant to their field of study and a clear career path.
    • have a first class or high second class honours degree or its equivalent from a recognised university

How to apply

To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must follow both of the following steps:

  1. check with the Saïd Foundation the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly; AND
  2. apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory)

Saïd Foundation

The Saïd Foundation works in the UK and the Middle East. In the UK it offers scholarship programmes and assists the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, whilst in the Middle East it seeks to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in its priority countries.

The Further Education Programme promotes education, training and development by providing financial and other support to talented young people from the priority countries so that they can acquire skills and knowledge that would not otherwise be available to them.

The Foundation works with the Cambridge Trust to offer the Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship, available to Master's applicants from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan or Palestine
