Gordon Edge Science and Technology Fund
Gordon Edge was a leading figure in the Cambridge technology sector and instrumental in the economic growth of the region, until his death in 2013.
Gordon was born in Lancashire and became the first person in his family to go on to higher education, before founding companies such as PA Technology and Sagentia (originally known as Scientific Generics).
Gordon’s family and friends decided that establishing a fund to help disadvantaged students from North West England and North Wales study for an undergraduate degree in science or technology at the University of Cambridge is the best possible memorial to Gordon’s life and work. It is directed at students taking A-levels in science subjects, and is the University’s first endowed fund to support students from the North West of England.
Mrs Nikki Edge has made a generous gift to establish the fund in honour of her late husband, The Gordon Edge Science and Technology Fund.
The Cambridge Trust works with The Gordon Edge Science and Technology Fund to offer the Gordon Edge Cambridge Scholarship.
